Information for this tour was contributed by Chad Hauris. The Ector Theatre at 500 North Texas celebrated a grand re-opening August 4th, 2001. Its last day of operation had been in the early/mid 1980s. This is its 50th anniversary -- "Rebel Without A Cause" was shown. It uses a single Super Simplex projector with xenon lamp and a platter system. It still is a single, large-screen theatre. The theatre (including the elaborate neon marquee) has been restored and is now owned by the City of Odessa.
