When the Janus opened in 1968, it was the only two-screen theater between Washington and Atlanta. The first features to appear on these screen were ELVIRA MADIGAN and the YELLOW SUBMARINE. Later expanded to 8 screens. Demolished in 2001 for luxury condos. The projection booth was covered from floor to ceiling with graffiti made by the employees.

An article in the February 4, 1972 edition of the Greensboro News and Record reported that the Janus III and Janus IV Theatres would hold their grand opening that weekend, making the Janus Theatre the first four-theater complex in the Carolinas. The article reported that Janus I and II each sat 214, Janus III sat 195, and Janus IV 125. The Janus III was themed gold, and the Janus IV was blue.
