Information for this tour was contributed by Matt Ceccato. The Carmike Cinema 7 opened in November 1988 with a parachutist (probably from nearby Fort Benning) delivering the print for "Oliver and Company." It was the "crown jewel" in Carmike's monopoly of Columbus movie theaters, as Carmike's home base was in Columbus. It converted to a second run policy in 1997 and remained so until it closed.
The Columbus (GA) Ledger-Enquirer reported in 2015 that the building was being used as a church. Photos Photos remain the property of the Member and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the Member. |
