Information for this tour was contributed by Tim Reed. The Sky-Vue D/I opened in 1948 and was built by J.B. Johnson Enterprises, 154 N. Upper St, Lexington, KY. It opened to heavy rain storms, the same night as its sister theatre, the Lexington D/I (defunct 1989), in Nicholasville, KY. The Sky-Vue's screen tower (originally wooden) burned in the early 60s, and was replaced with a new steel tower. The Sky-Vue was sold to Chakeres Theatres circa 1964. The theatre was extensively remodeled in 1970.
