National Amusements built this $9 million theater on the site of the University Drive-In. The awkward theater opened as a 14 screen theatre in October 1988 and was expanded to 20 screens in 1997.

Rave Motion Pictures acquired this theatre in 2009. In November of 2012 it was announced that Cinemark would be taking over operation of this and 31 other locations.
