A 5/7/1985 article in the San Francisco Examiner reported that this theatre was being taken over by Renaissance Rialto from Premiere Cinemas. Premiere operated for five years by partners Ben Myron and Don Taylor whom sold their theatres to fund film production.
An article in the 3/4/1988 edition of the San Francisco Examiner reports that Renaissance Rialto had sold their four San Francisco theaters to Cinerama Theatres and Blumenfeld Theatres, effective that Friday.
The Gateway closed as a cinema in 1996 and the Eureka Theatre Company moved into the space. Photos Photos remain the property of the Member and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the Member. |
