Information for this tour was contributed by Scott Neff. This theatre opened as a single screen theatre and was known simply as the South Bay. While operated by Loews, a second theatre was built in the same parking lot and this became known as Cinema 1 and the new theatre Cinema 2.
Some time later, the theatre was split into three screens and became Cinemas 4-5-6 and the original Cinema 3 furthest from the main road was changed to Cinema 1.
Loews acquired this theatre from Statewide in November 1967.
General Cinema acquired this theatre from Loews on June 28, 1972.
General Cinemas converted this location to second-run films after it opened the Galleria 16 theatres in the mall next door. They later closed the theatre and an independent operator took over the lease, followed by Regency Theatres.
