Information for this tour was contributed by Scott Norwood. Architect Oreste DiSaia designed the Columbus, which was built in 1926. The theater ran adult fare from the 1960s until 2002, when the Rhode Island International Film Festival played here, convincing the owner that there was another market for the theater.
