The Weston 8 was originally part of the Wometco chain until it was purchased by Silver Cinemas. Unlike the majority of the Silver Cinemas chain, this theatre remained first run until Silver Cinemas closed in bankruptcy in May of 2000. The theatre sat dark for about three years until its current owners leased it and brought it back from the theatre graveyard. It continues to play first run fare, despite the enormous competition directly around it.

AMC acquired this location in April of 2015.
