The October 20, 1972 edition of the Greeley Daily Tribune announced the opening of this theatre.
The featured article also went on to cite E.N. Thompson, President of Cooper Enterprises. as saying by the end of 1972 the company would operate 19 screens:
Wilshire 1 & 2, Cooper 1 & 2, Colorado Theatre and the Chief Theatre all in Greeley. Other cities included Colorado Springs, Denver, Minneapolis, Omaha and Lincoln.
