The Hartford Courant reported in an 6/10/2020 article that this theatre would not be reopening following the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This was the last year and our lease was up. We were given the option to renew the lease but we passed because it never has been a great performer,” [Bow Tie COO, Joe] Masher said. “The operating costs are out of line with the business revenue.”
Apple Cinemas is taking over the lease in July 2020 and will eliminate five theatres which will be converted to an arcade, a bar, and possibly axe thoriwng or mini golf. The remaining theatres will be fitted with recliner seating. The overall capacity will be reduced to around 900 seats.
