Uptown Entertainment sold the 12-screen theater to Cloud Nine Theater Partners, which operates the Maple Theatre in Bloomfield Hills, in April 2014. The theater closed September 1 of that year and the building owner appeared before the city planning board to redevelop the building into a mixed use facility with a smaller theater.

Emagine Entertainment reopened the theatre on October 2, 2015. The number of screens has been downsized from 12 to 5 with seating reduced from 2650 to 540.
