The Rex Theatre was remodeled into the Rapid Theatre sometime in the mid-1960s. The theater was operated by the Black Hills Amusement Company out of Deadwood, South Dakota, which also operated theaters in Deadwood, Sturgis, and Lead in South Dakota, and Casper in Wyoming.
