Information for this tour was contributed by Daniel Gibbs. Only in an overwhelmingly German city would one find a movie palace called "Schanze." This one opened in 1912 and closed sometime in the mid-1950s. It suffered badly from competition from the big Metropolitan Theatre across the street (long since torn down), but the Schanze is still very much there, with its impressive arch and sculptured Muses reclining above.
