Seating just over 900, the Garden was one of the first large Detroit neighborhood theaters and featured a garden-like auditorium. The Garden opened on December 20, 1912. After closing in 1949, it was converted to nightclub use and later returned to use as a cinema with adult fare as the Peek-A-Rama and then as the Sassy Cat.
