Information for this tour was contributed by Scott Neff.

The Playhouse opened in 1948 as a repertory theatre, showing occasional movies. It's been remodeled at least four times since then, ending up in its current three screen first run configuration. The theatres aren't large, but they do offer great sound to the upscale bay-front community of Tiburon.

After closing in March 2020 for Covid, a 9/16/2020 article posted by nbcbayarea.com reported that Cinema West made the decision not to reopen this theatre following the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.

Following the success of their Cinelounge in Hollywood, this theater was remodeled with state of the art projection and seating and reopened 7/15/2022.
