Information for this tour was contributed by Ken Roe. Opened as a live theatre in 1962 with 385 seats, it wasn't very successful and in 1965 it was converted into a full time movie theatre with additional seats added giving a capacity of 414. In 1968 it was closed and the interior was re-constructed into a 631 capacity cinema by architect Carlo S. Biskupek with an interior design by Harold Bartram, re-opening in 1969. From 1991 it has become a popular cinema screening recent releases at bargain prices with a current seating capacity of 488.
