Single screen theatre... projection room was in the narrow corner at the street corner.

The Rideau Canal is the waterway behind the theatre.

AFAIK, the theatre closed whenever the other theatre in town opened. I think the same family owned both ... and moved into (opened) the larger single screen theatre. Probably in the late 1950s.
