Information for this tour was contributed by Andrew McCrea. The Capitol Theatre opened on February 14, 1921 as one of Famous Player’s first picture palaces and treasures. It closed on September 3, 1990 with Arachnophobia, and sat for six years through blizzard freezes and summer thaws. Due to this, the basement flooded from sewer back up and a leaky foundation.
Unfortunately, it has now been torn down, and a Credit Union is rising in its place, as we speak, 3 years after its demolition. Photos Photos remain the property of the Member and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the Member. |
