This is the theater that started it all for architects Rapp & Rapp. It also happens to be the theater where they made all of their mistakes, which include the virtual non-existence of a lobby. The Riviera opened in 1918 and featured stage shows and movies. Concerts took over in the mid-1970s. In 1984, the seats on the main floor were removed, reducing the capacity to 2,300. The chandelier in the entry originally hung in the Granada Theatre, which was demolished in 1990.
