Information for this tour was contributed by Ken Layton & Philip Boultinghouse.

The Lincoln City 6 was designed and constructed for Act III Theatres, but Regal purchased the company during construction.

Originally the building design was much more elaborate. Renderings from the architect looked like the prow of a ship. (Lincoln City is on the Oregon coast.) There was to be a lighted tower over the ticket booth (ships mast), a crown shaped canopy, an angled and curved front wall that looked like a ships hull and large neon letters over the clerestory window that spelled "CINEMA." Due to budget and site constraints, the design was scaled WAY back.
