Wayne Amusements first drive-in opened on August 15, 1956, with the John Wayne western The Searchers playing on its 216-foot screen. It later became a part of the Quo Vadis Entertainment Center, where restaurant-goers could watch films while dining. The Algiers was twinned and the land was later sold and turned into a shopping center.
