Information for this tour was contributed by Roger Katz. The Elks Theatre opened on October 24, 1911, as the Realty Theatre with 430 seats on the main floor and 239 in the balcony. Its name changed to the Elks in 1930. The theater had also previously been known as the Middletown Opera House. The Elks was part of a chain which included the Hill in Camp Hill, the Elton in Steelton and the Moose in Elizabethtown.
