Architect(s): Plunkett & Edwards

The Arlington Theatre was constructed of reinforced concrete in 1930 for the Fox West Coast circuit on the site of the former Arlington Hotel, which was heavily damaged in the 1925 earthquake.

The theater makes use of the Mission Revival architectural style, which was imposed upon the commercial district by the city council when the earthquake-damaged buildings along State Street were reconstructed.

Metropolitan Theatres restored and expanded the theater in the mid-1970s and currently operates it with a mix of movies and performing arts.
