Opened on September 17, 1969, with the film Me, Natalie, the Eastland was twinned in 1975. The theater was located on the Eastland Shopping Center property, outside the main structure. As AMC Theatres was taking over operations, the Eastland Mall 5 opened inside the shopping center.
