Opened in 1940, the Allen Park was a single screen theater with seating for 1,600. This was the first movie theater for Nicholas George, who would go on to become one of the area's leading exhibitors.

The theater was twinned in 1970, sold to AMC Theaters in 1986, and later divided up into five theaters and sold to MJR Theatres.
