Information for this tour was contributed by Matt Ceccato.

The theater opened in July 1970 under ABC Theatres, with its first feature being "The Boatniks." The theater was originally built in "Ultra-Vision" and could seat up to 780 people. Sometime in 1977, a second auditorium was built, and a year later the original Ultra-Vision auditorium was split in two. Around that same time, the Plitt chain acquired the Plaza and ran it until late 1986, when Carmike took over. On January 20, 1989, the theater became a second run house until it was shuttered in May, 1997. The last three films the Plaza showed were "Jerry Maguire," "Absolute Power" and "Scream."

The theater was demolished on January 21, 2014.
