Eben Dyer Jordan commissioned architect John Galen Howard to design Boston's most magnificent theatre. Howard combined the Beaux Arts style with the newly-invented light bulb to proclaim the theatre's grandeur. The columns, arches and stained glass were accented by 4,500 of these new light bulbs.
