Information for this tour was contributed by William T. Parr. The Southwood Theatre was built in the 1960s by Trans-Texas Theaters in the Southwood Shopping Center. This was an 800-plus seat single screen when built. In the 1970s, it was twined and sold to AMC Theatres after they came to town. In 1982, the theatre became a Presidio Theater when AMC sold all their properties (Riverside 8, Northcross Mall 6, and Westgate 8, along with the Trans-Texas Theatres they had acquired: The Americana, Southwood 2, and Aquarius 4) to them.
