Opened as the Upper Valley Mall I & II by General Cinemas. Screen 2 was split in 1977 to form a third auditorium.

The location was sold to Chakeres Theatres after May 24, 1988 and additional screens were built. An article in the Springfield News Sun stated that Chakeres cited poor attendance as their reason for reluctantly closing this theatre.
