Information for this tour was contributed by Paul W Marino. The Bijou was built as both a theater and a youth center, not unlike the YMCA. It was in business from 1895 to about 1915. It may have lasted longer than that, but the demise of the Father Mathew Society appears to coincide with US involvement in World War I.
