General Cinemas opened the Livonia Mall I & II on October 13, 1965. One theater seated 1,000 and the second seated 510. The theater boasted screens recessed into the walls, advertised as "picture window screens". The main auditorium was eventually split in two before the theater was sold to Cinemark Theatres, then MJR Theatres.
