The Old Orchard I & II opened on December 10, 1971, under the control of Suburban Detroit Theaters with "Doctor Zhivago" and "Scrooge". The theater eventually became the Old Orchard 3 in the late 1970s and was later sold to AMC Theatres and then Great Eastern Theatres.
