An ad in the April 4, 1989 edition of the Intelligener/Record announced the April 14 opening date. In this same at the theatre was spelled incorrectly as Chelthenham Cinemas.

Regal Entertainment closed this UA theatre in 2006 allowing an independent operator to operate it until 2008.
