Information for this tour was contributed by Grant Smith.

Four Weber State College students opened the New Alhambra Theatre on 29 January 1971 with a production of "The Fantasticks." The 175-seat theater was located at 2550 Washington Blvd., the site of the old Masonic Temple.

The New Alhambra was named after the Alhambra Theatre in Ogden, which was being demolished at the time. Many of the ornate decorations, chandeliers, and painted drops from the Alhambra Theatre were donated for use in The New Alhambra.
