Information for this tour was contributed by Grant Smith. The Liberty Theatre was open from about 1914 to 1927 [1] and was owned by Vic Lazetti. Saturday was serial night and the shows cost just 10 cents. The theater had only one projector, so every 10 or 15 minutes there would be a pause while the projectionist put in the next reel of film. Two of the projectionists were a man named Haycock from Springglen and Charlie Hoff, an old time projectionist.
Barney De Vietti, who later managed the Strand Theater, said his first experience in theater was distributing hand bills for the Liberty Theatre in the various mining camps in the area. He also helped take down and set up chairs in preparation for dances held at the theater.
