The Community Theater was closed in the summer of 2001 after the Loews chain pulled out. It was re-opened in January of 2002 as the Community Theatre Foundation, a non-profit group run by volunteers who renovated the 80 year old landmark. Commumity Theatre shows second run features and art films as well as classic features. Opening week featured "The Wizard Of Oz".
