Information for this tour was contributed by Daniel Gibbs. Although not designed in any way as a movie house, it's worth noting that Baltimore's grand Opera House was occasionally pressed into the service of the silver screen. The building was originally named The Music Hall, opened on Halloween Night in 1894, and was designed after the Gewandhaus in Leipzig. It's still the ultimate theatrical venue in the city, and is the home of the Baltimore Opera besides road companies and Broadway tryouts.
