Information for this tour was contributed by William French Jr. This is the first building built for motion pictures in San Rafael and was later converted into a restaurant (Orpheus Grill) when the Orpheus Theatre opened next door in 1920. It has not been a restaurant for many years. The bottom half of the building has almost completely gutted, except for the columns that surrounded the screen. The upper half still has original murals, which has been covered with drywall for their protection. The projector booth is still intact. A second floor balcony was inserted into the building when it was turned into a restaurant.
