The Times opened on October 1, 1941, a sister theater to the Esquire across the street. The movies playing opening night were Bad Men of Missouri with Tanks a Million. The building was demolished to make way for the Hyatt Regency hotel, part of the K Street mall renaissance at the end of the 1990s.
