The Ghiradelli Square Cinema was located in a corner of the Ghirardelli Square at Beach and Polk Streets. General Cinema operated the theatre from its opening until August 18, 1983.
A 5/7/1985 article in the San Francisco Examiner reported that this theatre was being taken over by Renaissance Rialto from Premiere Cinemas. Premiere operated for five years by partners Ben Myron and Don Taylor whom sold their theatres to fund film production.
The theater was renamed the Waterfront Cinema in 1987 shortly before closing. Photos Photos remain the property of the Member and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the Member. |
