Information for this tour was contributed by Konrad Schiecke. In 1944, Mrs. Upton started construction of the new Polo Theatre down the block from her previous theatre. The new Polo opened in 1945 with 350 seats. Dur to the pressures afforded by television, the Polo closed its doors in February 1960. The building still stands with its marquee intact. The floor was leveled and Charlie's Pharmacy and True Value Hardware occupies the space. Return to the top of this page or Return to the main page
