Information for this tour was contributed by Daniel Fuentz. The theater was opened as a single in 1967 by GCC as an anchor to the "Manchester North" mall. Manchester North was a small enclosed mall just north of the Manchester Center. It was anchored by a Safeway supermarket with mall access on one end, and the theater was the anchor at the opposite end. The theater never had mall access.
It was twinned in the mid-1970s by putting a wall down the middle of the auditorium. The seats were never repositioned to the new screen location, so some seats near the front were pointed toward the wall.
GCC sold the theater to UA after October 19, 1983. UA operated it as a sub-run with double features throughout the 1980s. The theater featured the original GCC decor and sigange until it was remodeled in 1989. At this point the box office moved inside, and the GCC "Cinema" sign was replaced with the 1980s United Artists signage. The theater closed in 1999, unable to compete with the newly opened Edwards 21 in North Fresno.
