Information for this tour was contributed by Dan Ackers. Closed in May 1988.
Paddock was a Mid-America Theatre, then owned by RKO Mid-America Theatre, then became AMC. Eight months before closing, it was sub-leased to a private group that operated a few other former Mid/RKO/AMC twins. It was the only one that they had that made a profit.
Right about the time of the closing, there was highway construction going around the Village Theatre and AMC wanted to make it a $1.50 house and didn't want Paddock to compete with it. When Paddock closed there was still 18 months left on the lease, the building sat till the lease was up. Paddock was then turned into a video rental store which didn't last long. As of today, it is now a dollar store. The theatre sat in a strip mall and was pretty much all brick in the front. Today all the brick is gone and its all glass. The only thing that looks like it might be left is where the dollar store has its sign at.
