The Crest Drive-In opened on Wednesday, May 29, 1963. Opening double feature was Black Zoo and Play it Cool!

Bakersfield's only twin drive-in was created when a second screen opened in March, 1977.

Bakersfield's last remaining drive-in closed in 1999, bringing the end to an era. The screens were finally demolished in early 2003.
