Information for this tour was contributed by Grant Smith. Mann Theatres opened the Cache Valley 3 in Fall 1976 as part of a national expansion program. [1] The three-screen multiplex had the same floorplan as the Alameda Plaza 3 in Pocatello and the Yellowstone Plaza Triplex in Idaho Falls. [2] Carmike Cinemas acquired all Utah theaters in the Mann Theatres chain in the mid-1990s. [3]
Westates Theatres took over management of the Cache Valley 3 on 16 February 2002, after Carmike pulled out of the theater due to its bankruptcy. Westates spent $50,000 to $100,000 on upgrading projection and sound equipment in the cinema. [3]
In 2002 Westates Theatres began negotiations with JP Realty, owner of the Cache Valley Mall, for the construction of a new six-screen stadium seating multiplex to replace the aging triplex. [3] The Cache Valley 3 Theatres closed on 18 October 2007, day before the opening of the new University Stadium 6 Theatres.
