Information for this tour was contributed by Daniel Gibbs. When the Pimlico opened in 1914, this was an outlying area, not yet within city limits, and nearby the famous Pimlico Race Course (Home of the Preakness Stakes). The only theatre for miles when it was built, it could seat 600 originally and was expanded to seat almost 1,000 in 1921. The neighborhood started to fall apart in the 1960s but the Pimlico had already lost a lot of business to the neighboring Uptown. It closed in 1952, but the building is still there, currently part of a drugstore.
