Information for this tour was contributed by Daniel Gibbs. Newport News' biggest and finest theatre. Opened in 1931 and was equipped with the very last Barton theatre organ ever built. The organ is currently installed in the Granada Theatre, Kansas City KS. The Paramount was destroyed in the mid '70s. Sadly, one course of the limestone facade evaded destruction and is still standing on the empty lot, still attached to the surviving structure to the west of the theatre.
