Opened as a movie house, the Avalon was converted into a performing arts venue in 1955, but failed miserably. Films returned to the Avalon in the form of adult entertainment before the theater was sold and renamed the Fiesta, showing Spanish-language movies. One more name change to the Capri and the theater closed in the mid-1980s and became a church. Photos
