Information for this tour was contributed by John Stewart. The building has been many things since it was last in operation. In 1972, it was a porn theater and it closed either that year or early 1973. I worked there that summer and it was hot as hell in that south facing booth. No a/c. The third photo, taken in 1972, is in the ladies restroom up stairs in the balcony. The balcony was reserved for "blacks" only. As you know, many theaters in the south was built that way. Evidently, there was some man problems between two women, thus the warning in lipstick left on the wall from who knows when. Photos
